The following images are part of a series of illustrations of traditional fly patterns from eastern United States hatches compiled by myself and my colleague, Ryan Dunmeyer – biologist and seasoned fly-fisherman, who ties the patterns I use as reference. We’re working towards creating an easy-to-read compilation, that matches traditional flies to the actual insects they are imitating – for beginners and for people ¬†who appreciate the art of fly-tying and naturalist illustration.
